Overview

FRIZZ turns the CHOMPI into a stereo effects box and looper for whatever you plug into its AUX input, for its built-in microphone, or for a computer on USB. You record a loop, or load your own from the SD card, and play it faster, slower or backwards, punch effects in over it and over the input on the white keys, and keep the effects’ settings as scenes, to recall, morph or drop to on the bar line. A finalizer sits on the outputs, MIDI over TRS and USB reaches every control, and on a computer FRIZZ is a USB sound card too.

  • SHIFT means holding the CHOMPI key. The play page and the settings page are the mode switch’s two positions, down and up. Every other page is named with its control: an effect’s page 2, picked with a press of a knob, and VOLUME’s pages 1-3. Playing basics has all of them.
  • The keys are named as on a keyboard: the white keys counted from the left, white key 1 to white key 15, and the dark keys by their note, C#, D#, F#, G# and A#, in the lower (left) or the upper (right) octave: the lower F#, the upper G#.
  • The chapters go from the panel and the basics of playing, through the looper and the tempo, the way the sound runs and one chapter per effect, to the scenes, the settings, the input and the card. Key combinations has every gesture in one table, and the appendices the MIDI reference and the technical data.
